Speculation and a little time on my hands.

How will/should the series end? I decided to share my ideas:
1. Brennan and Booth, partly as they are now and how they once began. No more, no less: friends. They do not confess their love for one another, they do not share a tearful goodbye, they do not cross the metaphorical line that Booth drew so long ago.
2. Brennan dies, or Booth does, after many years together, actually together, or as they are. No one is never the same. There’s a hole; a puzzle, and it doesn’t matter how hard they try to find the pieces, when they find one, the piece will never fit.
3. One night, a night like many others, they’ll have one too many beers. They’ll sit side by side on the couch in her apartment. He’ll lean into her, she’ll lean into him, and they’ll be close — too close, but not close enough. It’ll be passionate, but they’ll deny that it meant more than it did.
4. They’ll finally, finally admit to something, but it’ll only be a taste of what’s to come. Unfortunately, the series will end. right. there.
